Exceeding Expectations...Camden County, Georgia exceeds all expectations. Its unique balancing act provides an ideal atmosphere for any venture-personal or professional.Camden successfully combines international history with American pride, untouched nature with explosive growth, nationally renowned attractions with mom and pop shops,a military installation with hometown pride...Camden County has one eye on the past and one foot in the future. Home to the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base and the cities of Kingsland, St. Marys, and Woodbine, Camden County is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners. The current Chairman of the Commissioners is David Rainer. The Commissioners hold bi-monthly public meetings in the historic Camden County Courthouse located in Woodbine (the county seat). Built in 1901, the courthouse still houses many county offices. Camden's explosive growth has made it necessary to construct a new courthouse. The new facility is now complete at Courthouse Square in Woodbine (photo). After completion of the new facility, the historic courthouse is still preserved as a monument to Camden's rich history. |
